Zinc Cobalt Electroplating

Back in 2003, our zinc cobalt line was our first plating line that was completely free of hexavalent chromium. The new rack plating line, built to meet automotive demands in the southeast US, continues today with both acid zinc cobalt and alkaline zinc nickel plating baths.

In this picture, Adam Brumfield, Quality Manager, inspects a piece plated with zinc cobalt with a trivalent black chromate with a topcoat. The parts will pass the customer's spec of less than 10% red corrosion to 400 hours of neutral salt spray testing.
